Francis Tarla

Central Africa

Francis N Tarla is a retired lecturer of ruminant nutrition at the Faculty of Agronomy, University of Dschang and from 2003 to 2014 he was Director of the Garoua Regional Wildlife College, both in Cameroun. He coordinated the Regional Network of Central African Forestry and Environment Training Institutions (RIFFEAC) from 2004 to2010. He has been a capacity building consultant since 2014 and coordinated the MENTOR-Progress on Pangolins Fellowship Programme, a collaborative initiative between the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the Zoological Society of London (ZSL). Today he is director of the Central African Bushmeat Action Group (CABAG) and coordinating the MENTOR-Bushmeat Fellowship Programme at ZSL Cameroon Office. Main interest has always been, in addition to capacity development, in the domain of community conservation initiatives.
